Information on trademark applications will be published in Hong Kong Intellectual Property Magazine. Any claims (if any) against your trademark registration with the Hong Kong Intellectual Property Department can be made within 6 months from the date of publication.
After the assessment period, the trademark is officially accepted, a Certificate of Intellectual Property is granted for your registered trademark. This notice will be published in Hong Kong Intellectual Property Magazine, the effective date starts from the date of submitting your application. That means you have the exclusive rights and uses of your registered trademark from the effective date, your trademark will be protected under Hong Kong law for a period of 10 years.
The trademark registration in Hong Kong can be renewed for further periods of 10 years each, with the payment of renewal fees.
